What is a Mission of Mercy child sponsor? A Mission of Mercy child sponsor is a special, caring friend to a child living in a poverty-stricken area of the world, an individual who can become uniquely involved in that child's life.

Am I the only sponsor for my child? You are your sponsored child's only sponsor, and that makes your commitment vitally important! Your long-term dedication, support and encouragement will make an eternal difference in the life of your sponsored child.

What information will I receive regarding my sponsored child? Every year you will receive:
  • three communications from your sponsored child

  • a progress report on the child's development

  • periodic newsletters from Mission of Mercy to keep you updated on our work in your sponsored child's country and around the world
How does my sponsored child benefit from their involvement in Mission of Mercy's sponsorship program? For children growing up in poverty, it is absolutely essential that their basic needs are met. Your sponsored child will receive the following benefits:
  • educational opportunities

  • health screening and medical attention

  • nutritional supplements and food as needed

  • social development

  • the opportunity to receive Christ as Savior
How long does my sponsorship continue? You have the opportunity to continue your child sponsorship throughout the duration of the child's stay in the program. Children are generally sponsored an average of 5 to 6 years. The length of child sponsorship depends on the cultural expectations of each child's community.

What happens if I must discontinue my child sponsorship? You may choose to discontinue your child sponsoreship at any time - we understand that sponsors' circumstances sometimes change. If you must end your child sponsorship, please contact Mission of Mercy immediately so that another sponsor can be found for your sponsored child.
