Position Title: Mission and Vision Trip Coordinator
Reports To: Vice President of Marketing and Development
Date: February 2008
Department: Marketing and Development

General Purpose/Summary Statement

Coordinates all logistics for approved mission trips, vision trips and sponsor tours. Facilitates the organization and effectiveness of these trips, as well as collaboration among the various departments.


Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinates all travel arrangements for assigned trips.
Oversees the selection of hotels and food arrangements within the destination country.
Communicates with field staff regarding expectations.
Oversees schedules, deadlines, requirements and communications with participants.
Prepares the content of travel books and all pre-trip communications.
Creation of filing systems (both electronic and hardcopy).
Prepare and maintain manuals for the various types of trips.
Prepares in house post trip reports as well as follow-up reports for participants.
Responsible for mission/vision/sponsor trip information on the web site including sign-up forms, pre-trip information, etc.
Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Mission of Mercy, and faithfully upholds the ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children - raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Good judgment and high degree of maturity. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Advance relational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written.
Ability of work independently, to complete tasks, and be proactive in maintaining and managing schedules. Good project management skills.
Exceptional computer skills to include experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in working cross-culturally and ability to adjust communication styles as appropriate.
Ability to take initiative and effectively complete complex assignments.
Organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy, and a team player.
Strong work ethic.
Education/Experience
Associates Degree preferred.
Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
Experience in cross-cultural ministry and organizing mission trips preferred.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Office working environment, no unusual physical activities required to do the job.
